Get the Edge!
Pre-Register OnLine

Driver's Edge, a free accident avoidance training program, is coming back  to South Dakota.

Drivers under the age of 18 - the ones most likely to be involved in car crashes over the last five years according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety - will learn how to stay safer on the roads thanks to this innovative program.  Driver's Edge, a non-profit organization, gives teen drivers free classroom and behind-the-wheel accident avoidance instruction to battle this statistic.

Driver's Edge will be in South Dakota on June 13, 14 & 15, 2008.  Sessions will be held at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls.

Parents are also encouraged to attend and observe.  The program includes:
v Written tests to measure driving knowledge before and after completing the course.
v Classroom and behind-the-wheel defensive driving instruction on skid control, evasive lane change maneuvers, anti-lock braking skills and panic-braking techniques.
v Local law enforcement interaction, including impaired driving awareness and seat belt safety.
        v Proper car maintenance.

Driver's Edge is a nationally recognized program taught by professional racecar drivers and performance driving instructors.

This special opportunity is offered at no cost to students.  Young drivers ages 14-21, possessing a valid learner's permit or license, are invited to join one of the sessions.  Pre-registration is required, either by phone at 1-877-633-EDGE (3343) or online.
